Leadership team

Pastor Binuraj T K was born in 1977 in Kerala but brought up in Karnataka. From his childhood, he was very passionate to serve the Lord Almighty and God choose him to be a vessel for His glory at a very young age.

His father Late Rev. Immanuel Pillai and mother Susheela served the Lord for almost three decades together till Pastor Pillai was taken to the resting place in 2002 and since then Pastor Binuraj is a full-time pastor. He did his Theological studies from Asian Biblical Seminary. He has also a master degree in English and a Teaching qualification from Auckland University.

Pastor Binuraj served the Lord in Udupi (Karnataka) and different parts of India before he and his family migrated to New Zealand in 2007. He and his wife Ancilla Simon Fernandes pioneered the Lords work in Auckland New Zealand with just two of them but over the period of time, the church has grown heaps and bounds and now caters to many nationalities and different language groups.

He is happily married to Ancilla Simon Fernandes since 2005 and as a family is blessed with two boys and one girl Bryan, Brianna and Brendan.

My name is Sunil and my wife’s name is Savitha. We have been married for 17 years and have been blessed with two wonderful daughters Shona and Shiana. We come from Mangalore, India.

We have had the privilege of being a part of Bethel AOG church from day one. It had been a blessing to serve as an elder in our church almost from the beginning of its founding. I have also been leading our Kannada regional group meetings. We as a family have joined hands with our pastors both in India and New Zealand in serving the Lord and reaching out to people. Our most magical moments came when families we reached out accepted the Lord, got baptised and were established in the church. We have inherited a love for people from our parents and following in their footsteps, we love to put a smile on people’s faces whenever an opportunity presents itself. Bethel has been a perfect catalyst and place for us to love and serve people. Our Pastor, his wife and family have been our role models when it comes to serving the Lord and our goal is to reach out to one person at a time with God’s love.

I am Shamila De Mel serving the Lord in Bethel AOG church for the last 8yrs and in the capacity of East AKL cell group leader and a member of the worship team. I am of Sri Lankan origin and migrated to NZ in 2013 and experienced God’s abundant grace and blessings as never before at Bethel church in this wonderful land. I am a Sales Merchandising Manager by profession and my loving wife Lashika has excelled in the fields of Montessori child education/Hair dressing & Medical receptionist. Our son Riveesh studies in Auckland Normal Intermediate and loves to play piano & guitar. “The Lord is the rock of our family.”

I am Bindu Francis and I’m a nurse by profession. I’m married to Francis Devassy and blessed with a daughter, Tina. I come from Kerala, India, and have lived in Auckland, New Zealand since 2004. I enjoy cooking, gardening and food sculpting.

The South Auckland 1 cell group is a predominantly malayalam speaking group, and this is reflected in our prayer meetings and gatherings. Discussions are more common than preachings, and spiritual growth is the primary focus.

I am Shilpa, I have been part of Bethel AOG Auckland for a number of years now. I am married to Rohan who looks after the Men’s ministry.

I look after the South 2 carecell. We have an every growing community here in the south and it’s such a joy to bring people together to grow and fellowship in Christ. We have loving families from different backgrounds, languages, countries. We focus on putting the word of God to practical application in are day to day life. We have great fun, food and friendships to help each other on journey with Christ.

I am Robert, married to Jasline and we are  blessed with two kids Donzel and Darius.

I am leading the West-1 Carecell group. We come together to seek God individually, teaching and growing together in all wisdom and being encouraged through the Holy Spirit and the Word. We are blessed through our monthly carecell meetings. I work along with pastor Binuraj and support our carecell families to grow stronger in our spiritual life in which I grow along with my family and very much blessed.

My name is Komal Gupta, I have been married to Beula for the last 7 years. We are blessed with two sons Alex & Austin. I come from (Dehradun) northern part of India. My passion is to serve GOD. And I love gardening, cooking & photography.

As a part of Bethel AOG, I am leading one of the carecells (Central-1) in Central Auckland. We are like a family, where we come together to encourage each other by The word of God, spending time in praise & worship, sharing testimonies to increase the faith. In our group, everybody is given a chance to share the Word where we learn & grow together to develop gifts & leadership qualities.

My name is Shoby Abraham, married to Jaimol Shoby and blessed with 3 kids Adriel, Aaron and Abiya.

Together as a family we serve the Northshore Cell group comprising of almost 15 families. We come together as a group worshiping the Lord in the presence of Holy Spirit, sharing testimonies and standing in gap and praying for each other. We study and share from the word of God as a group which helps us grow spiritually together as a group. It is a blessing to serve the Lord as a family and supporting Pastor Binu Raj for the greater cause.

I am Vinay married to Renee and we are blessed with two boys. Being a part of Bethel AOG church, God has been enabling us to lead one of the cell groups in the West Auckland. We are grateful to God for using us as a family to serve Him, supporting pastor Binuraj and family in their journey towards bringing people of different communities closer to Christ.

It is a God bestowed privilege to be part of  Bethel Assemblies of God, Auckland, New Zealand, a multicultural vibrant church. Bethel has its doors wide open for people from all walks of life. We are a church prioritizing in heart-felt worship, true friendships, fervent prayer and compassionate care for each other.  My name is Santhosh Samuel and my wife Shyni and I have joined this church since 2015. God has gifted us with three wonderful kids and we want them to be partakers of God’s kingdom. God has assigned me to lead the Central 2 Care Cell group. Besides, God has placed me to be a part of Bethel worship team and Bethel Evangelism team. We pray that He would use us in different ways for the expansion of His kingdom.

It is our passion to serve the Lord and we believe that we should set true examples to others in our walk with God. In doing this, we could share the truth of the Gospel of Christ and the love of God, through tending to human needs and sowing spiritual seeds so that all people would ultimately get an awareness about the depth and width of God’s love and grace that He has for us.

I am Roshanka, together with my wife Shalini and our precious children Shanel & Hosanna, made Bethel AOG Auckland our family church in 2021 after moving from Wellington. We were born & brought up in Sri Lanka until our family moved to New Zealand in 2019 as a result of a prophecy from God.

I am leading the Hamilton Prayer Fellowship which is a group of believers who come together for prayer, praise & fellowship each month. We believe that God will enlarge the spiritual territory of Bethel AOG in New Zealand through our Hamilton group.

I am also a part of the worship team of Bethel AOG as one of the musicians playing keyboards at the Sunday Worship Service and other services.

I consider myself to be honoured and privileged to be a part of the leadership team of Bethel AOG and to serve God under the pastoral care of Pastor Binuraj.

I am Mary Vithanage and I help look after the Sri Lankan community at Bethel. My heart goes out for those who are in need and struggling, both physically and spiritually, and I believe I am called to help them, encourage them and lift them up in prayer. I also enjoy sharing the Gospel and helping new believers get established in their Christian walk.

I was born in Sri Lanka and I moved to New Zealand with my family a few decades ago. I have two children, but now they are both grown up and have families of their own. So, I am blessed with a lot of spare time and I enjoy spending that time helping our Sri Lankan community and anyone else that is in need. I also enjoy gardening and you’ll often find me leaning over a shrub or two in my backyard.

I am Robert, married to Jasline and we are  blessed with two kids Donzel and Darius.

I am leading the Tamil Regional group. We come together to seek God individually, teaching and growing together in all wisdom and being encouraged through the Holy Spirit and the Word. We are blessed through our monthly regional gatherings. It is a God given opportunity to worship our Lord and saviour in our mother tongue. I work along with pastor Binuraj and support our regional group families to grow stronger in our spiritual life in which I grow along with my family and very much blessed.

I am Akhila Ratnasuriya, and I am married to Tharuka. Together we help manage the Translation Ministry at Bethel. As a family, we love life and would love to see many come to know and love God personally. It is also our hope and desire that the Translation Ministry would contribute towards that goal.

I am originally from Sri Lanka, but have been living in New Zealand for more than half of my life so I am practically a kiwi. In my spare time you will find me trying to conquer a mountain or out on a bike ride. I am also an avid stargazer and am passionate about exploring God’s creation and marveling at its beauty.

I am Moses Raju Titus, attending Bethel Assemblies of God church for more than 6 years. I am happily married to Sangeetha and have a little baby boy Asher. Just like Joshua said, me and my family we will serve the Lord.
I am a builder by profession and from the time we bought a new church building at Rosella Road, I have been looking after all the maintenance works.

I was born and raised in a Christian family so consider myself quite fortunate to know Jesus our saviour since my birth; God started using me in singing at the age of 15. I grew up in Mumbai singing for my church. After I graduated, I moved to NZ for further studies and decided to call NZ my new home. After few years, God led me to Bethel AOG Church where I was given opportunities to sing and lead in the worship team. God has used me to lead our Sunday morning services as well as our cell group worship services. I and my wife have been a part of this church since 2018 and we were joined by our little daughter shortly after in 2020 and we as a family love serving and leading people into the Presence of God during times of worship as well as being a worshiper of God in my everyday life!

My heart is to set the example that worship is more than just music, but a lifestyle that we choose to live every day. We need to understand that He deserves the praise regardless of the situation, and whether we “feel like it” or not.  In everything I say and do I want it to bring glory to the name of Jesus.  There is no one else who is worthy of my praise. It’s all about Him and I will give all I am to make sure that He always gets the honour that is due His name.

I, Aaron Fernandes & my wife Shiny Monis along with our boys Anson & Aston serve the Lord at Bethel Assemblies of God Church, Auckland. God has been faithful to us in every step of our life and we look forward to serve him in greater capacity.

I am Rohan, I have been part of Bethel AOG Auckland for a number of years now. I am married to Shilpa who looks after the South 2 cell. We are blessed with a beautiful little girl Anaiah who will turn 3 soon.

I look after the Men’s Ministry at Bethel AOG. Most of the men are 35 years and above but we also have younger men who are passionate to be part of this ministry. We focus on what it means to be a real Christian man. We have been working together to move from just regular acquaintances to building strong manly friendships so we trust, empower and build each other up to lead our families in a Godly way.

I am Jasline, married to Robert and we are blessed with two lovely boys named Donzel and Darius.

I work along with sis Sony in supporting and encouraging our Bethel AOG women’s group. As a woman, each of us has been given specific spiritual gifts. When we come together in fellowship, it is like us as a whole demonstrating God. We believe there is a strong emphasis on prayer because we believe God hears and answers our prayers. We encourage each other and pray earnestly for the spiritual , personal and other needs. It is a wonderful journey in which I grow along with our dear women of God and it is a blessing to be a part of this women’s group.

I am Lijo John and I am happily married to Gifty. We come from India and are blessed to be serving the young men and women of our Bethel AOG church family. Being raised by Godly parents, I had the privilege to accept Jesus Christ as my personal saviour at a very young age and has since developed a devout passion to serve Him.

Bethel A.R.M.Y – “Anointed Reigning Mighty Youth” is the vibrant youth and teens wing of the church, consisting of a blessed bunch of youngsters and teenagers, passionate to march forward together with a hope as mentioned in Philippians 1:6, He who began the good work will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
